November 17th, 2011: High Res Complete!

Sim Savvy is relieved to announce the completion of the Photoreal America high resolution upgrade.  The entire continental United States is now completed in 1 meter resolution generated from 50cm aerials.  Previous customers who purchased the 2 meter scenery can upgrade to the high resolution scenery with an additional upgrade purchase. We also now offer smaller regional sections of the full product which reduce the cost to less than half the full purchase price. The five new regional sections available for purchase are the Northwest, the Southwest, the South, the Northeast and the Northern Central US.  These regional sections include a 500G USB 3.0 hard drive and the full product now includes a 2T USB drive. Additionally, current free samples will soon include the entire states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware.

October 31st, 2011: Trick or Treat More States Complete!

Sim Savvy is happy to announce the completion of batch three in the high resolution upgrade of Photoreal America. The newly completed states are Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee and Wisconsin. The western states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming are in production and will ship for the Holidays. Also, the Female Sale has been successful and one purchase was made by a future female pilot who is currently 8 yrs old. Her grandfather is teaching her how to fly using FSX.

  October 20th 2011: New Website!

The upgrade drive process is working well in two places CA, TX. Its working ok, but not quickly at six
other locations. And a couple just didn’t work too well at all. No worries. I am going to have most, if
not all, of it done and to you by Christmas. Uh Oh, I’ve made another promise I have to keep. But that’s
what keeps me going and now, with my partner, it keeps us going.

I sold 100 upgrades, and that paid for the aerials “$2700” and the upgrade drives “$1000” and the
mailings “$1000.” So you guys paid to double the quality of the product. Now the upgrade is built into
the purchase price and I am making more profit for my efforts. This strikes down one complaint about
the scenery I’ve had from the start about how the resolution is not good enough. The next complaint we
will correct is color correction.

Now please don’t everyone email me asking me all the obvious additional questions. Just have faith that
I will have it all worked out so you will get more than you expect. That is our goal and the key to our
success.

By the time the batch two upgrade drives arrive back I will have batch three done so it will be a double
batch. So all you guys better find some hard drive space soon. I can work with you any which way. You
can buy a drive as cheap as me. You can have it sent to me. And at any time in the future, you can get
a copy of the entire product. It is time consuming for me, but it will end with the completion of the
upgrade plus my usual two week delay.

Having completed Texas and California we are more than half way done with the upgrade. Montana
here I come. I will let you know when this double batch ships and this time I will keep the groups to six
people down from eight. Those at the bottom of the last batch list will be first this time.

Finally check out the new website Alex made!

October 4th 2011: Twice as Good - Twice as Fast
  • I have a new partner Alex Krebs.
  • He will begin with the website and you will be pleased.
  • Watermasking is starting to look like a reality to me.
  • Individual state purchases may be available very soon.
  • Despite delays I'm ahead of schedule on the 50cm scenery.
  • I hope to have it out to everyone by Christmas
August 14th 2011: Quality vs Quantity
  • Recent input confirms that no one wants second best.
  • The Hi-Res 50cm scenery is wanted and is being delivered.
  • I now have help and it will just get better.
  • The upgrade drives have been successful thus far and the next round ships the first week of September.
  • I currently have five computers generating scenery, producing several states a week.
  • It is also time to go to the 2T USB drive now and individual arrangements can be made.
  July 22nd 2011: Technology & Time
  • Pre-sales of the upgrade option have amazed me. 50 people bought the upgrade sight unseen.
  • In doing so I had the money to purchase the new aerials on sale for half price.
  • This will speed the process immensely. Thank you all.
  • My next challenge is distribution.
  • Since 49 of the 50 have already asked me to explain the process I will not elaborate :)
  • It will work because it has to. There is simply no other current way, but change will likely come soon.
  • Saving the best for last, the time has come to improve the water in photoreal. I have help now.
June 24th 2011: High Resolution Upgrade
  • I have found a source for 1/2 meter aerials of the entire US including Alaska & Hawaii.
  • To cover the cost of these aerials I will have to charge an additional upgrade fee of $49.
  • I promised free high resolution (HR) upgrades to customers and I will deliver on that promise.
  • As I redo each state in HR I will provide a downloadable section free to current customers.
  • If you wish to have the entire state in HR simply purchase the "one-time" upgrade fee.
  • Delivery of the HR will be on a returnable USB hard drive that will ship from customer to customer.
  • Arizona will be the first state completed and the Grand Canyon will be the free upgrade sample.
  • Having conquered quantity this will be a major improvement to the quality of the product.
June 20th 2011: Satellite Scenery The World
  • I started as a student pilot but I've been a flight simmer for 2 years now. It's time for some real scenery for
the world. Why this has not been completed by industry leaders is a puzzle. I have decided to complete this
simple task with the best tools I can obtain. This satellite scenery is only usable at high altitudes. So learn
to fly a jet :) Those who purchase early will get the entire world for $49 with some minor shipping costs.
I reward customers who support me during progression of the product. Asia and Australia should be done
by July 15th and North & South America one month later.
May 25th 2011: Satellite Scenery Europe is completed
  • USB 3.0 is here. My file copy went from 5 hours down to 2 1/2.
  • I can now load all states in 3 minutes instead of 5. But some customers already knew that.
  • I had some customers call on the phone and they have very interesting stories.
  • So I've started a Sim Stories page to replace the forum that did not work out.
  • I've also heard from some high altitude pilots and I think the satellite scenery will please them.
  • Africa is next on my list. I also promised some high resolution scenery for America and I'm running behind
    there.
  • Please send more screenshots as they are looking good on the website.
  • And finally I'm implementing a new group package price that I hope will make the product more affordable
    for some.
April 23rd 2011: Change of Flight Plans
  • The past two months have been very eventful.
  • Absolute sales have doubled thanks to FlightSim Pilot Shop.
  • I received a professional review finally and it was good.
  • I changed my website and now I've changed it back.
  • I found some free european aerials but they weren't very good.
  • I'm reducing maintenance so the forum is gone and customer screenshots are limited to one.
  • Please send me your best screenshot because I need more.
  • I have a Comments/Forum page that I will use to replace the real forum.
  • I can't make scenery if I have to do all this other stuff.
March 15th 2011: Photoreal America is completed.
